Introduction
The Pegaso 6035/4 from Empresa Cabrero of Valladolid was one of ARCA’s earliest vehicles.
Its suitability for carrying large passenger loads meant that it was used mainly on the FASA-Renault staff service linking Valladolid with the company’s various factories.
Vehicle condition
The vehicle is currently undergoing restoration with the aim of returning it to the best possible condition so that it can once again operate normally.
The Pegaso 6035/4 is therefore currently out of service.
History
ARCA’s preserved bus belonged to Empresa Cabrero, a Valladolid operator providing interurban and private-hire services. One of its contracts carried employees from the city of Valladolid to the FASA-Renault factories and operated only around factory shift changes.
Pegaso 6035/4 and Barreiros 6000 buses were consistently allocated to these duties because they were the most suitable vehicles for moving large numbers of passengers within very short periods.
The bus performed this work from 1976 until 2002, when 65 company vehicles were replaced with new ones. The withdrawn fleet went to a Valladolid vehicle dealer, where numbers 134, 139 and 166 remained until they were scrapped in 2008.
ARCA acquired unit 164 for preservation in 2005, although it did not reach Catalonia until 28 April 2006.
