Vehicle condition

The vehicle is preserved in operational condition and participates in ARCA activities. It retains the Transports Urbans de Sabadell appearance and fleet number 82, making it a direct record of urban transport in Sabadell at the end of the twentieth century.

History

Vehicle 82 was registered on 16 October 1998 and joined the Transports Urbans de Sabadell fleet. It belonged to a batch of three Mercedes-Benz O405N2 buses, numbered 82 to 84, with low-floor Hispano Carrocera VÖV bodywork.

It served Sabadell’s urban network for 22 years. Its low floor, three doors and capacity for 30 seated and 63 standing passengers represented a significant improvement in accessibility and faster operation at stops compared with earlier generations.

Following withdrawal in 2020, ARCA preserved the vehicle. It was presented in 2024 as one of the association’s newest additions and returned to public operation at the Sabadell Rallybus, now as a historic vehicle.

The nickname “SOM” identifies this preservation stage. Its entire connection with TUS and Sabadell adds to ARCA’s collection a representative low-floor bus from the 1990s.
