The  6038 model represented an improvement as compared to the Pegaso 6035  (curved windshields to avoid sun light reflections, an ergonomic dashboard, wide windows where coincidence between window frame and passenger's seat was avoided besides other mechanical improvements).

They started operation on February 1982 along the routes inherited from Autos Transportes Martí previous urban service of Sabadell . The first batch consisted in 33 vehicles (series 1 to 33) with Noge bodywork of Arbúcies. The cars of the second batch were delivered in 1985 and this time bodywork was Ugarte's, they were numbered 134-135.

Nº 237 belonged to the third and last order of Pegaso 6038: they were numbered 236 and 237, with Ugarte's bodywork.

They were very reliable cars and its extreme front and rear doors allowed optimization of passenger flow along the vehicle. As years went by all the Pegaso 6038 were grouped in the series 1-37, and some received air conditioning equipment, among them nº 237.

During year 1996, 8 buses of this series were sent to Sarajevo  (3-7-11-12-17-18-25 and 27). They would be sold as well second-hand to Pujol (Girona) or they would be passed over to the intercity service of Sant Quirze (TP). 

Their partners were withdrawn during year 2003, turning a page on the existence of this model in TUS of Sabadell. 
Facing this situation, Joaquín Canales acquired nº 37. During year 2005 the vehicle was fully restored to the original livery and at present it is in good state. It has already participated in the farewell of Pegaso at TMB, commemorations of Sabadell bus routes, commemoration of centenary bus at Barcelona and in documentary filmings.
