HISTORY

Start of service: 1949 (Tranvías de Barcelona, 410)
Withdrawal: 1989 (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, 410)

The operator Tranvías de Barcelona imported 50 chassis ACLO for double deckers from England. Vehicles nº 401-445 were bodied at the factory Carde y Escoriaza incorporating only one central air folding door for passenger entrance and exit.

The last five vehicles had a platform opened up at the rear where the access stairway to the top deck was fitted, although these were bodied by Macosa.

During 1953 the series was extended incorporating nºs 475-494 with  Macosa bodywork and open rear platform. The whole series was decorated in the operators red and cream livery except those dedicated to suburban services which were green. These buses stood without modifications during practically all their active life.

In 1962 there was withdrawals of many buses of this model for their transformation in single deckers with  Seida bodywork, while the rest would continue working up to 1968. The cars 410, 424 and 434 were preserved for their incorporation to a future Transport Museum but they would end up scrapped with the exception of nº 410. Nº 411 was sold to a camping from Canet de Mar (Barcelona).

In 1978 nº 410 was restored at Vilapicina's workshop with an excellent result. In 1981 it participated in the exhibition "Trains and stations" working as shuttle service between El Born, the Estació de França and the Plaça de Catalunya. When  this service was over it would be further used on sundays and festivities along route 747 that makes the journey Pl.Catalunya-Zoo, but due to the little commercial success it was discontinued in 1989.

During year 1996 the vehicle would be delivered to the Museu del Transport de Catalunya. At present the vehicle is exposed to wind and weather while waiting for restoration.

On year 2006, the Museu del Transport de Catalunya broke down and his collection is splitted on different entities, this bus return to TMB for preparation to exhibit on the Museu de la Mobilitat de Barcelona.
