HISTORY

Start of service: 1923
Withdrawal: ?

This bus becomes the centre-point of the room's exhibition, which shows us  the local bodybuilders and their primitive manufacturing techniques. It is for this reason that the vehicle is partially cross-sectioned, so that the observer can appreciate the materials and building process.

This òmnibus dates from 1923 and it was bodied onto a Chevrolette chassis and engine. It was equipped with 11 seats and its radiator, a Graham Brothers from Detroit, was fitted on the spot. The bus is painted in the original red, which was Solé's livery. This colour is an important element of local history as far as local disputes between the towns of Arbúcies and Sant Hilari de Sacalm at the beginning of the 20th century were mentioned as disputes between "reds" (Solé's livery from Arbúcies) and "yellows" (referring to the livery of the Hispano Hilarenca coaches from Sant Hilari de Sacalm)
